Our Approach

Pro Crease Goaltending, LLC (PCG) is the largest instructional hockey organization dedicated solely to goaltending in Connecticut and New York; the company also serves organizations and academic institutions in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. PCG was founded in 2008 by Jared Waimon who serves as PCG’s Owner/Founder. Along with a staff of twenty (20) premier goaltending instructors, PCG provides a wide range of services from summer and year-round camps to elite private instruction for prep schools, Division I-III colleges, and youth organizations. PCG’s camps and instructional sessions are operated at premier facilities including Avon Old Farms School, South Kent School, and Westminster School as well as select public facilities including Chelsea Piers Connecticut (Stamford) and Newington Arena.

In addition to his role with PCG, Jared Waimon is currently the Goaltending Scout for the Back-to-Back 2020-2021 Stanley Cup Champion  Tampa Bay Lightning. Prior to joining the Lightning, he was the Goaltending Coach at Quinnipiac University for five years. During Jared’s tenure at Quinnipiac, the Bobcats advanced to the NCAA National Tournament three times and in 2016 they played in the NCAA “Frozen 4” title game. Both Quinnipiac goaltenders that trained under Jared signed NHL contracts.

Concurrent to his coaching at Quinnipiac, Jared also served the USA Hockey’s National Developmental Team Program as the Strelow Program East Regional Mentor. Jared’s history of winning extends back to his time with Trinity College where he served as the Goaltending Coach for 9 years. During that time, the Bantams won an NCAA D3 National Championship, multiple NESCAC Championships, and developed three different NCAA All Americans. On the private instruction side, Jared exclusively trained 2019 13th overall NHL Entry Draft selectee Spencer Knight (see “Spencer Knight” PCG web page).

Jared is a product of New Milford Youth Hockey and played for Sacred Heart University and Stonehill College. He has dedicated his life to the advancement of goaltender development and is an enthusiastic student of the game. His knowledge of the different levels of hockey, both locally, nationally, and internationally, makes him one of the best resources available for the serious goaltender.

PCG instructors have served as assistant and goaltending coaches for a number of prestigious college and university varsity programs including Albertus Magnus University, Boston College, Brown University, Cornell University, Trinity College, and the University of Connecticut.

PCG has developed promotional relationships with premier consumer brands in their respective categories from hockey “tools-of-the-trade” companies such as Vaughn Hockey to consumer brands including Gatorade, Quaker Oats, Mutti, and equipment retailers including Wesco Sports.

"More people are playing hockey in the United States than
ever before, thanks in part to the increasing popularity of the NHL."

Equally important is the emergence of women’s hockey with young girls from grade school to college, the Olympics and professionals. Most youth organizations, public and private high schools and colleges now have women’s programs. In fall 2018, Waimon debuted as a goalie coach for USA Hockey at the Women’s National Team Evaluation Camp.

"While some youth and even high school sports have seen declining participation in recent years, there’s one sport that has been growing at a record pace and is showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Girls hockey is on the rise as more female players are taking to the ice and getting the chance to play not just with the boys, but also on their own girl’s teams from the time they’re first old enough to lace up the skates all the way through high school, college and professionally.” - USA TODAY
